Intermediate Sewing - Level 6 (May 10, 12, 14 & 17 2021) 6:00pm -8:30pm




Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: This class is for individuals who have taken level 1-5 and is ready to increase their sewing knowledge. Time to fine tune and perfect your sewing and alteration skills. With Level 6?s tailored blouse you will learn everything about buttonholes, where to place them, how to adjust them for your personal measurements, and how to sew them. Learn how to insert and fit a set-in sleeve with a smooth cap, how to sew and insert pointed collars and collar bands, and how to construct professional looking sleeve plackets and cuffs. Finish off your garments with a machine blind hem using the easy tricks which you will learn. Build on your alteration skills for the bodice area, sleeves, and darts. Also learn all other types of closures such as loops, frogs, ball buttons and SO MUCH MORE. Sewing professional looking garments and achieving a perfect fit is easy with Level 6. (105 min.)
Materials Included: The supplies for this class is an optional purchase with or without class. However, the supplies will be needed at the beginning of class. Also, if an individual does not have a sewing machine, one can be rented but the price is not included in materials or price of class. The kit includes the following: Pattern, seam ripper, elastic, thread, tracing paper, Medal Sewing Gauge, Tape Measurement, Scissors, pins, Safety Pins, Pin cushion, Silk Pins & Hand Sewing Needles.
Requirements: Each individual is required to have a sewing machine, Fabric base upon Pattern, seam ripper, elastic, thread, tracing paper, Medal Sewing Gauge, Tape Measurement, Scissors, pins, Safety Pins, Pin cushion, Silk Pins & Hand Sewing Needles. The class consist of 4 sessions, and if a class is missed and a makeup session is required; there will be an additional cost of $36.50 for each makeup class session. If an individual does not have a sewing machine, one can be rented at the cost of $10.00 per class session.
Instructor: Joyce Stevenson
Instructor Bio: Joyce learned how to sew while in home economics and developed a love for sewing. Over the years, while serving in the military, Joyce continue to sew for herself and her children. While she loved being in the Army, she always wished she was home sewing and, on many occasions, stated that when she retires, she would just sit home and sew. Although, she continued to sew while retired, she pursed another job for 4 years. At first the job was fun, but after a few years, the job was no longer fun and she decided to open simply sewing center where she could teach other to sew and sew everyday as she dreamed.
