Advanced Sewing - Level 7 (February 23 & 25 2022) 10:00am -3:00pm (Fayetteville)




Skill Level: Advanced
Skill Details: This class is for individuals who have taken level 1-6 and is ready to increase their sewing knowledge. Bring your sewing to the professional level. Learn everything about tailored jackets. Learn what determines a perfect fit, and how to achieve it. Level 7 contains easy up to date techniques for welt pockets and bout buttonholes, with each step shown and explained in full detail. You can learn tricks for a truly perfect notched collar and understand all there is to know about interfacing. We even teach you how to easily make your own interfacing pattern pieces. Learn how to add linings to jackets and pother garments, along with some great short cuts for attaching linings and SO MUCH MORE. If you think tailoring skills are difficult, we will change your mind with Level 7. (120 min.)
Materials Included: The supplies for this class is an optional purchase with or without class. However, the supplies will be needed at the beginning of class. Also, if an individual does not have a sewing machine, one can be rented but the price is not included in materials or price of class. The kit includes the following: Pattern, seam ripper, elastic, thread, tracing paper, Medal Sewing Gauge, Tape Measurement, Scissors, pins, Safety Pins, Pin cushion, Silk Pins & Hand Sewing Needles.
Requirements: Each individual is required to have a sewing machine, Fabric base upon Pattern, seam ripper, elastic, thread, tracing paper, Medal Sewing Gauge, Tape Measurement, Scissors, pins, Safety Pins, Pin cushion, Silk Pins & Hand Sewing Needles. The class consist of 4 sessions, and if a class is missed and a makeup session is required; there will be an additional cost of $36.50 for each makeup class session. If an individual does not have a sewing machine, one can be rented at the cost of $10.00 per class session.
Instructor: Joyce Stevenson
Instructor Bio: Joyce learned how to sew while in home economics and developed a love for sewing. Over the years, while serving in the military, Joyce continue to sew for herself and her children. While she loved being in the Army, she always wished she was home sewing and, on many occasions, stated that when she retires, she would just sit home and sew. Although, she continued to sew while retired, she pursed another job for 4 years. At first the job was fun, but after a few years, the job was no longer fun and she decided to open simply sewing center where she could teach other to sew and sew everyday as she dreamed.
